The Tennessee Titans went into free agency with around $100 million in cap space, depending on where you looked, and it would have been flat-out irresponsible if they did not spend a good bit of that money.
With a new regime in town led by head coach Robert Saleh, and a now year two quarterback in Cam Ward, this is the time for teams to get a bit aggressive to spend. There isn't much of a benefit for a team to simply sit on their hands with a ton of cap space.
In some instances, improving the roster means you have to go out and spend a good deal of money, and we have seen that with the Titans on Monday, the first day of the legal tampering period. News quickly broke that the Titans would be signing cornerback Cor'Dale Flott, and the contract terms are quite fair.
The Tennessee Titans are improving big-time in the secondary
The Titans will soon be signing Flott to a three-year deal worth $45 million, but that is the most important here is the $32 million in full guarantees:
The #Titans have agreed to terms with CB Cor’Dale Flott on a three-year, $45 million deal with $32 million fully guaranteed.

That comes out to about $10.67 million in guaranteed money per season, and for a rock-solid cornerback, that is a steal. According to PFF's data, Flott allowed a 72.8 passer rating when in coverage in 2025, and it's really hard to be much better than that in coverage.
In 2025, Flott played in 14 games, and had one interceptiuon, 11 passes defended, 38 total tackles, and three tackles for loss. He has, oddly, played in 14 games in each of the last three seasons, and he only played in 11 during his rookie season. The injuries are a bit of a concern, but when he's on the field, which is still most of the time, he's effectively and is only set to play in his age-25 season in 2026.
The 6-2 cornerback has good length and ball skills, as he has 25 passes defended over his career, including 18 since the start of 2024. Sure, Flott isn't the best by any means, but this is a really solid contract for a slighty-above-average starter at a hugely important position.
All of a sudden, when you look at some of the other signings the Titans have made, things are looking very bright for the future of this team. With Flott now being in a Saleh defense, you could also expect a new level of aggression to be unlocked.
