Much of the chatter surrounding the Tennessee Titans' need to improve the offensive line this offseason surrounds the right tackle position, but right guard will require Ran Carthon's attention, too. This year's starter has been Dillon Radunz, who entered the season on an expiring contract. Radunz wasn't the team's Plan A going into training camp. That was Saahdiq Charles, who abruptly retired despite joining the club in free agency mere months prior.
Radunz had previously been considered a bust as a 2021 second-round selection. The former North Dakota State standout has played tackle and guard in a reserve role, failing to meet initial expectations. Radunz has finally settled in at guard and is enjoying a career-best year in 2024, but he's still an average-caliber blocker.
Carthon and head coach Brian Callahan may prefer to pursue an offseason upgrade. It was the previous regime that drafted Radunz. We've identified three potential replacements via the 2025 NFL Draft, where the Titans will be equipped with two top 40 selections.
Wyatt Milum, West Virginia
Wyatt Milum is playing offensive tackle for West Virginia this season, but the expectation is he'll kick inside to guard throughout the NFL pre-draft process. Milum is actually a four-year starter at tackle for Mountaineers, but lacks the arm length required to stay there. Think Peter Skoronksi from the 2023 NFL Draft class.
Milum projects as a top 40 selection, making him a potential target for the Titans in the second round. Milum possesses fundamental strength with outstanding movement skills. Despite the looming position change, he's a technically refined prospect who should make an instant impact.
Tyler Booker, Alabama
Unlike the other two prospects on this list, Tyler Booker is a guard through and through. The Alabama Crimson Tide phone-booth blocker is a two-year starter that began seeing action in 2022. He's extremely physical with a finisher's mentality.
Booker overwhelms opponents at the line of scrimmage by displacing defensive linemen in the run game. Booker possesses a sturdy anchor against interior pass rushers. Booker won't be overwhelmed by physicality as a rookie in 2025.
Jonah Savaiinaea, Arizona
Jonah Savaiinaea is another college tackle that projects to play guard at the next level. He's an incredibly versatile blocker. The Samoan native has split reps at both tackle positions throughout 2024, moving around as required after breaking into the starting lineup at right guard in 2022.
Savaiiinaea is listed at 330 pounds and he possesses the mass and power to match. Savaiinaea utilizes those traits to effectively anchor in pass protection. He's incredibly long with more athleticism than most realize.
