Best NFL prop bets for Titans vs. Chargers in Week 15 (Derrick Henry will torch Chargers’ defense)
The Tennessee Titans still have a two-game lead on the AFC South, but they need to put an end to their losing streak this afternoon when they head to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers.
The Titans will need to do it as underdogs. Sportsbooks have Tennessee set as a 3-point underdog to the Chargers in the late-afternoon slate.
Even in this spot, I think there are some opportunities for Titans players to have a big game. Mainly, Derrick Henry.
Let’s dive into why I think that’s the case as I break down my three favorite prop bets for this AFC showdown.
Best NFL Prop Bets for Titans vs. Chargers
- Derrick Henry OVER 102.5 rushing yards
- Ryan Tannehill OVER 1.5 passing touchdowns
- Justin Herbert OVER 311.5 passing yards
Derrick Henry OVER 102.5 rushing yards
Derrick Henry should be licking his lips looking at the matchup he has ahead of him today. The Chargers have the worst run defense in the NFL, allowing 5.4 yards per carry this season. They aso allow the most total rushing yards per game at 147.
Henry is coming off one of his best performances of the season, rushing for 121 yards against the Jaguars in Week 14 in what was a losing 36-22 effort. If he can run that effectively again today, he’ll soar of 102.5 rushing yards.
Ryan Tannehill OVER 1.5 passing touchdowns
If you’re looking for a plus-money prop bet, wager on Ryan Tannehill to throw at least two touchdown passes. He’s done it twice already this season, and now he and the Titans offense gets to take on a Chargers defense that’s allowing 1.6 passing touchdowns per game and 22.7 points per game.
In what I believe will be a high-scoring affair, Tannehill has a great chance to throw for at least two scores.
Justin Herbert OVER 311.5 passing yards
Let’s be honest, the Titans have struggled to stop the pass this season, especially in recent weeks. Over their last three games, the Titans are allowing 8.5 yards per pass attempt, which is the second highest mark in the NFL over that stretch. Now, they need to try to defend a Chargers that is second in the league in pass attempts per game.
If you have faith that Tennessee can win this game, then that means the Chargers will need to play catch up later in the game. That should also lead to some garbage time yards for Herbert. So, no matter what way you look at it, Herbert to surpass his passing yards total in this game is a solid wager.
