Unlike many years in the past, the Tennessee Titans are one of the biggest sleeper destination spots for free agents this offseason.
Professionals in Las Vegas already consider the Titans to be a contender next season and there is a lot of appeal in Nashville right now even despite the playoff loss.
The Titans are a roster with high upside since they have a large contingent of star players on contract for next season already and one of the easier paths to the playoffs due to the weak division competition.
This year the only right move for the Titans is to add immediate contributors with proven talent and make Todd Downing’s offense too good to fail. The team is already moving in this direction by bringing in Tim Kelly to help coordinate the offense.
That being the case, while it would be out of character for the Titans to make an attempt at a high-profile free agent, it is not out of the question.
That starts with grabbing a high-caliber wide receiver.
Undoubtedly, the Titans have higher priorities this offseason to address such as the offensive line and resigning Harold Landry. The moves here will largely determine the next moves this offseason, but wide receiver should be the next position addressed by Jon Robinson after those are sorted out.
