Tennessee Titans top concerns ahead of Monday Night Football versus Bills

Can any of the Tennessee Titans’ young guns step up?

In order for teams to create long-term success and/or dominance, the roster must be constructed in a way that gives them the best opportunity to win. In professional football, teams can go from the outhouse to the penthouse in a single season, and that’s for two reasons.

Every offseason, all 32 NFL franchises are allowed to, one, go fishing in the free-agency pool and, second, fill any roster voids or areas of concern by spending money on some of the more highly-touted free agents that are available.

From a free-agency standpoint, Bud Dupree’s lingering injury issues are a concern. There’s some concern that Josh Reynolds and Janoris Jenkins might not be the guys that the Tennessee Titans thought they were, but they have managed to get some quality production from the likes of Denico Autry, Jayon Brown, and Ola Adeniyi, among others.

It’s for that reason that Tennessee’s had to hit the target with their draft choices. That isn’t happening either.

The past two classes have given us a few reasons to be excited (Kristian Fulton, Chris Jackson, and Elijah Molden), but most of what we’ve seen has been guys who can’t get healthy, Darrynton Evans for instance) and guys who are either busts or venturing towards the area of being huge disappointments (Caleb Farley, Dillon Radunz, Isaiah Wilson, Larrell Murchison, and Monty Rice).

These young guys have to step up if Tennessee is to win consistently and build for the future. Unfortunately, the next stage of Kristian Fulton and Monty Rice’s development will have to wait. They’ve both been ruled out of the Titans’ game versus the Buffalo Bills.
