Tennessee Titans EDGEs

Active Roster: Bud Dupree, Rashad Weaver, Derick Roberson, Ola Adeniyi

Practice Squad: None

COVID-19 List (as of September 2nd): Harold Landry

Since the Titans didn’t rush out to add an extra EDGE to the practice squad, the implication is that they aren’t concerned about Harold Landry’s ability for the season opener. It also hints that they believe that Bud Dupree is healing very well and that he should be on the field in Week 1 as well.

John Simon’s cut was mildly surprising, but the team seems to be really impressed by their young trio of Derick Roberson (26), Ola Adeniyi (23), and Rashad Weaver (23).

Since the Tennessee Titans defense will feature a lot of different looks, keeping five EDGEs is about right. If they were committed to running defense with more 4-3 elements that used wide-9s, then one more player would make sense.

However, over the past two years, the Titans have used Jurrell Casey and Jack Crawford as the EDGE opposite Harold Landry about as frequently as they have used anyone else, so players like Rashad Weaver and Denico Autry are really positionless players who should count as both EDGEs and defensive linemen.
