Tennessee Titans running backs and fullbacks

Active Roster: Derrick Henry, Darrynton Evans, Mekhi Sargent, Khari Blasingame

Practice Squad: Tory Carter

COVID-19 list (as of September 2nd): Jeremy McNichols

This is one of those positions where it feels like the quiet before the storm. Derrick Henry is cemented at the top but the backups still could change.

Once Jeremy McNichols is off of the COVID list, the Titans will have three options. The first and most likely option is that they will cut McNichols and attempt to bring him back as a practice squad guy.

The next option is that they could cut Mekhi Sargent and try the same thing with him because the Titans currently don’t have a practice squad running back so you would expect that to be addressed after whatever the corresponding move is.

Finally, the least likely move is that the Titans put Darrynton Evans on short-term I.R. and put him on the shelf for three weeks as he rehabs his hamstring injury. This would allow the Titans to keep both McNichols and Sargent and they would kick the decision down the line to the end of September.
