35. . . . Mason Kinsey, wide receiver. . player

The Tennessee Titans have to hang on to Mason Kinsey if at all possible.

What a difference a month makes. It wasn’t that long ago that we were talking about the wide receiver position as one of Tennessee’s troubled areas. Most thought that wideout or cornerback was the direction the Titans should take with their first draft choice during the 2021 NFL Draft.

They elected to take a cornerback. They wouldn’t even take a wideout until Round 4. The addition of a Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee followed. Now, the Titans are stocked.

The wide receiver position may be their most well-rounded now, and that means someone very talented will be left off of the roster. Might that be someone like Mason Kinsey?

The former Berry College standout has proven his mettle. He’s a baller and deserves a shot somewhere, but seeing as how Tennessee already has three locks (A.J. Brown, Julio Jones, Josh Reynolds), a very talented rookie (Dez Fitzpatrick), and some really intriguing depth pieces (Chester Rogers, Marcus Johnson, and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine), it’s hard to argue Kinsey onto the roster.

That’s life in the NFL though. Sometimes, guys are cut that have talent. Sometimes, guys fall victim to the numbers game. Kinsey will be fine. He’ll get a shot somewhere. It just appears that his shot may come as a member of someone other than the Tennessee Titans.
