Tennessee Titans duds from the second preseason game

Jeremy McNichols/Brian Hill, running backs

Once seen as no-brainers to make this roster by quite a few NFL pundits, Jeremy McNichols and Brian Hill have been flat-out outplayed by Mekhi Sargent during the first two preseason games. Try five carries for -9 yards on for size in terms of Reynolds and 2.4 yards-per-carry average by Hill on ten rushes versus guys who may not make the Bucs roster.

Now, don’t read what hasn’t been written. After seeing what McNichols did a season ago in the absence of some of his teammates, the Titans are fiercely loyal to him. He’s probably making this roster. Darrynton Evans’ stock is also down, but some of that is because he’s hurt again.

It’s beginning to look like the best companion piece for Derrick Henry might be the undrafted rookie from Iowa, Mr. Sargent. We won’t write his name on the roster in ink yet, but he’s truly making an impact. Will it be enough? Time will soon tell.
