Titans preseason: Standouts and duds from win over Buccaneers
Tennessee Titans standouts from the second preseason game
Mekhi Sargent, running back
If Mekhi Sargent continues on the pace that he’s on, it’s going to be hard to keep him off of this roster. After a nice showing in the first preseason game, he notched 35 yards on his first six carries in the second and wound up with 50 yards rushing on nine carries. He also scored on a touchdown reception. Tennessee really needs to think about putting him on the 53-man roster.
Bradley McDougald, safety
When a guy joins a team on a Monday and is on the field and making plays by the following Saturday, he absolutely must be mentioned as a stud. Bradley McDougald’s night included a pass breakup that forced a punt and a body shot on Bucs tight end Tanner Hudson that led to a fumble and a 41-yard return for six by Briean Boddy-Calhoun.
McDougald has been effective everywhere he’s been, and he could be one of those rare late acquisitions that sneak onto the roster.
