For five sub-radar Tennessee Titans, a starting role might be attainable.

Since Jon Robinson was hired as the General Manager, the Tennessee Titans have steadily progressed from a roster full of obscure players to a roster packed with superstars.

Household names like Julio Jones, A.J. Brown, Derrick Henry, Bud Dupree, Kevin Byard, Taylor Lewan, and Jeffery Simmons make up the bulk of the Tennessee Titans’ starters but you can’t fill every position with a big name player.

With the first preseason game just 72 hours away, it is time to start looking at which players might actually be in for a shot at starting when the real games start in September.

Yesterday some of these names were mentioned in the Tennessee Titans training camp stock report, but the bulk of them might be new names to some people. Some are rookies who aren’t being talked about while others are journeymen who might have finally earned a chance to break through with a Super Bowl-caliber roster.

There is a case for seven or eight players, but for the sake of brevity that list has been narrowed down to the five names that might be a few more good weeks of practice away from earning their spot on the field as a role player or as a full-blown starter.

There is one name that everyone is talking about lately though, so it makes sense to start with the man of the hour.
