56. player. 35. . . . Monty Rice

Tennessee Titans linebacker Monty Rice

A quick look around the internet might reveal to you that the Titan Sized staff might be carrying the Monty Rice flag all by its lonesome, but that’s quite alright. This guy has all of the potential to be a nice rotational piece in the Titans defense that can evolve into something more later on down the road.

Now, you’re going to have to look past the statistics to talk yourselves into that. In 40 games at the collegiate level with the Georgia Bulldogs, Rice tallied two sacks, five pass breakups, and one interception en route to a third-round selection by Tennessee during the most recent selection meeting this past April.

That isn’t going to get you the all-important nod from Pro football Focus on their high-powered (and oftentimes confusing) stat machines. It also demonstrates why some are jostling theories about him being taken too high (he was the 92nd-overall selection).

Still, Rice can be a quality backup and special teamer for this team moving forward. Because of where he was drafted, the Titans have a vested interest in getting him on the football field. Look for him to get some quality playing time, and like Kizer, look for him to make some noise seeing as how, in the preseason, he’ll be matched up versus future backups and, quite honestly, some guys that won’t be on anyone’s team come September.

Rice was one of two defensive stalwarts the Tennessee Titans drafted during the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. The final name that appears on this list belongs to the other one.
