Tennessee Titans top three options to serve as their fourth receiver
Who are the Tennessee Titans reserve WRs? Do we know that?
Take a look around the Tennessee Titans‘ fan base, and you’d never know that, four months ago, the wide receiver position was seen as one of the troubled spots on this roster. Had the Titans written a huge check during the free-agency period or had they spent their first-round draft choice on one of the 2020 class’s best prospects at the position, no one would have batted an eyelash.
The 2021 offseason got underway, and after losing Corey Davis, they kept their eyes open. They scoured the market and landed one of the better combinations of cost and talent in Josh Reynolds. Then, came the NFL Draft. Surely, they’d go big there, right? Wrong!
Here’s what happened. Once Tennessee was in the clock in Round 1, the Titans didn’t spend that first-round choice on a wideout. They didn’t spend their second-round selection on a wideout either, nor did they spend either of their two third-round selections on one. They waited until Round 4. they got a good one, but there are a lot of skeptics that wish they would have pulled the trigger and taken one earlier.
June came, and the Titans had a makeup date with their fans. They pulled off a trade to get Julio Jones to Nashville, and just like that, they went from doubt to having one of the better receiving corps in the NFL. Ryan Tannehill probably hasn’t stopped smiling since.
QB1 now mans an offense that features the aforementioned Reynolds and Jones as well as A.J. Brown. Those are the top three guys on their wide receiver depth chart. The question is who are those other three guys if they keep six guys on the 53-man roster? Here’s an attempt to answer that.
Here’s a guess at who those next three guys are as well as the favorite to be slotted in the fourth spot behind what might wind up being the best trio in the game.
