Here are five questions the Tennessee Titans must answer during training camp.
1. What if this team really isn’t healthy?
The Tennessee Titans have been ravaged by injuries recently. Their young guys have even had some concerns, Kristian Fulton and Darrynton Evans for instance. What did the Titans do? They drafted a guy who had just had surgery (Caleb Farley), and they added two high-dollar veterans that are coming off of injury-riddled seasons as well (Julio Jones and Bud Dupree).
What if some of these guys aren’t quite ready? We haven’t discussed that much. Cross your fingers, and hope that no one gets hurt, but Tennessee needs to get these depth pieces up to speed and in a hurry. If someone gets hurt, things could go haywire.
2. Can someone in the backfield step up to assist Derrick Henry?
Derrick Henry has carried the ball more than 800 times over the past two seasons if you include what he’s done in the playoffs. That’s a ton of work, even for a guy that’s as talented and as needed as Henry is.
He’s so much of a part of what they want to do that they have to continue to feed him, but if the Titans carry five running backs into the season, which some believe is an option, Henry’s got to get a few breaks from time to time. Otherwise, this franchise is going to run him in the ground like they did Eddie George and Chris Johnson.
