Tennessee Titans cornerbacks (6)
Who made the cut: Caleb Farley, Janoris Jenkins, Kristian Fulton, Elijah Molden, Breon Borders, Chris Jackson
It feels so strange to say, but the Tennessee Titans have a chance to have one of the best groups of cornerbacks in the NFL.
Starting with the guys that fans are familiar with, Kristian Fulton had some nice flashes last season and you can make a very strong case that the only cornerback better than Fulton in 2020 was Malcolm Butler.
Breon Borders isn’t a shutdown cornerback, and in an ideal world, he isn’t starting for a defense. However, people are too quick to give him grief because he got beat on one play-action play against the Cleveland Browns. He is a very solid backup cornerback and the Titans are lucky to have him.
Chris Milton is gone, and Chris Jackson is the guy who most expect will earn the right to replace him. Jackson wasn’t given a fair shake in 2020 and he has all the tools you are looking for in a developmental player in the secondary and if he can play special teams it will only add to how valuable he can be.
Janoris Jenkins is the first new guy that needs a rundown here. Jenkins is an exceptionally physical cornerback who is almost identical to Malcolm Butler. The only difference is that Malcolm Butler is 31 and Jenkins will be 33 this season, but age hasn’t affected Jenkins who had five interceptions and 16 PBUs when he was 31 and three interceptions, 12 PBUs, and two TFLs last year.
Caleb Farley and Elijah Molden should be healthy and getting reps during training camp and it wouldn’t surprise me at all Farley was starting for the first game of the season with Molden earning a spot as a sub-package starter by the midpoint of the season.
