Tennessee Titans have to watch Week 1 of 2015’s season.

In NFL history there have only been two instances of a player reaching 1,850-plus receiving yards in a single season, and in 2015 Julio Jones joined Calvin Johnson in that club.

A big reason why Jones was able to hit that landmark was because of an opening three-game-stretch in 2015 where he stacked an amazing 440 yards. That all started with a 141-yard performance in Week 1 versus the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.

Making it even more special was his two touchdowns which basically won the game for the Atlanta Falcons in a tight 26-24 matchup.

Aside from the historical importance of this game, one reason why it should be especially interesting to Titans fans is that this is was one of the games where Kyle Shanahan and Matt LaFleur were on the offensive staff together.

The offense that helped Julio Jones to one of the most prolific receiving seasons in NFL history was later brought over and modified into the offense that Arthur Smith used to great effect for two seasons, and that’s why Tennessee Titans fans can expect to see from Julio Jones in 2021, at least schematically if nothing else.
