Dennis Kelly is truly one of the best decisions the Tennessee Titans ever made.

Be honest. When was the last time you thought about Dorial Green-Beckham? Once upon a time, he was seen by a ton of college scouts as the best wide receiver prospect in the country. He even won the Hall Trophy, an award that’s given to the nation’s best high school player.

He went to Missouri. He had issues both on the field and off. He was given a pass. He wound up being taken by the Tennessee Titans 40th-overall in Round 2 of the 2015 NFL Draft, and then the Titans decided that the best course of action was to give up on him after one season.

On August 16th of 2016, Tennessee and the Philadelphia Eagles made a deal. DGB went to the City of Brotherly Love. The Titans got Dennis Kelly in return. That deal worked out really well for one side and not quite in the manner that the other would have liked.

DGB appeared in 15 games with seven starts for Philly, tallying 36 receptions for 392 yards and reaching the end zone twice. The Eagles waived him on June 30th of 2017. He hasn’t played in an NFL game since. Kelly, on the other hand, appeared in 74 games with 32 starts from 2016 to 2020.

He’s never been voted to the Pro Bowl. He never got a ton of national acclaim, but Kelly is a baller. He’ll be on someone’s roster by the time we reach the 2021 NFL regular season. That you can count on.
