Updated Tennessee Titans 53-man roster projection after Julio Jones add
Here’s what the Tennessee Titans might look like on defense and special teams.
The specialists (3): There isn’t much to figure out on this one. Tucker McCann is your kicker. The punter is Brett Kern. The long snapper is Morgan Cox
Defensive line (6): Jeffery Simmons, Woodrow Hamilton, Denico Autry, Larrell Murchison, Bruce Hector, and Naquan Jones
A few random thoughts: This is a very impressive line when you step back and really give them a serious look. Denico Autry and Naquan Jones are good additions, and the latter, though undrafted, can work his way into the defensive line’s rotation in year one.
Linebackers (8): Harold Landry, Bud Dupree, Rashad Weaver, Jayon Brown, Rashaan Evans, Monty Rice, Derick Roberson, Olasunkanmi Adeniyi
More random thoughts: Was Monty Rice taken too high? That’s been a debate since he was drafted, but under the tutelage of Jim Haslett and with guys like Bud Dupree, Rashad Weaver, and Jayon Brown to lean on, he could be one of the surprises on this roster.
Cornerbacks (6): Caleb Farley, Janoris Jenkins, Kristian Fulton, Chris Jackson, Breon Borders, Elijah Molden
Something to think about: Kevin Johnson retired recently, and that means Chris Jackson slides onto the roster as a result. Breon Borders and Kristian Fulton could have an interesting battle for the slot cornerback role at camp.
Safeties (5): Kevin Byard, Amani Hooker, Matthias Farley, Dane Cruikshank, Brady Breeze
This is a tough and talented group
Final thoughts: Is it September yet? There’s a lot of optimism in the Titans fan base and for good reason. This could be a huge year for the two-tine blue.
