3 Tennessee Titans officially on roster bubble after Julio Jones signing

Your heart has to go out to Kalija Lipscomb as a Tennessee Titans fan.

One of the more interesting stories that came out of the Tennessee Titans’ rookie minicamp dropped when the team’s brass allowed four additional prospects to hang out at the facility to work out and show what that can do.

When they were done, one of the more notable names on that list, Kalija Lipscomb left a happy camper as the Titans announced that they had signed him to a one-year deal. Throw this one in the category of the ‘highest of highs’ and the ‘lowest of lows’.

Now, that there is a future Hall of Famer on the roster, not only are there questions about whether or not Lipscomb could make a name for himself but one could also ask what types of opportunities he’ll have in terms of earning reps.

Three of what we believe to be Tennessee’s top four wide receivers weren’t on the roster a season ago (Josh Reynolds, Dez Fitzpatrick, and now Jones). They’ll need to get as much work as possible in camp, as will A.J. Brown, especially after Reynolds and A.J. Brown missed the entire OTA session.

Keep in mind that, with the 17th regular-season game, that there are also only three preseason games now. Lipscomb has a problem here. He just doesn’t have much of an opportunity to show that he belongs, and that means he may fall victim to the numbers game.
