Don’t forget about the Tennessee Titans diamond in the rough linebacker.

Objectively, there is no world where someone could effectively argue that Rashaan Evans was better than David Long Jr. in 2020. However, there is a good chance that Mike Vrabel in his finite wisdom, tries to force-feed fans the combination of Jayon Brown and Rashaan Evans again in 2021.

Again this is a player that Dean Pees has worked with and a player that Arthur Smith saw wasted in the Titans’ poor defense last season.

In a division where defenses are going to be tasked with trying to keep up with the likes of Christian McCaffrey and Alvin Kamara, it would help to have someone with Long’s speed and aggression in the front seven.

This fits with the theme of adding a cheap player at a position of need to help solve a problem that will likely plague the Falcons in the short term and the long term.

Maybe Long doesn’t knock the value of the draft pick down from a second-rounder to a sixth-rounder, but he might be the tie-breaker between a similar deal from someone like the Baltimore Ravens.
