Tennessee Titans could send inexpensive corner help to the Falcons.

This offseason the Tennessee Titans completely rebuilt their defense and in the process, they jettisoned four of the five starting defensive backs in their nickel defense.

Everyone assumed that Kristian Fulton would be a starter in 2021, but that might not be the case.

Not only did the Titans spend a 1st and a 3rd round pick on cornerbacks, but they also signed Janoris Jenkins and Kevin Johnson while re-signing Breon Borders. That is at least one cornerback too many and it doesn’t bode well for the projected starter.

Fulton is obviously talented, but injuries hampered his rookie season and Arthur Smith saw firsthand just how poorly the defense was coached last year in Tennessee. Mike Vrabel’s excuse was that the players weren’t good enough, but if Smith disagrees then this is the perfect time to add a young piece to a defense that desperately needs help.

The Falcons are in a cap crunch which is why this Julio Jones trade is even happening, so adding an incredibly cheap player at a premium position who be a big plus for Atlanta.
