Tennessee Titans fans watch Derrick Henry make history again.

You didn’t think the subject of bold predictions was going to get tossed around without Derrick Henry‘s naming coming up, did you?

In 2020, the Tennessee Titans’ biggest star ran past, ran over, and ran through opposing defenses as he rattled off 2,027 rushing yards en route to his place in the 2,000-yard club. That puts him in some very elite company.

Fellow Titan CJ2K (Chris Johnson) is there as well, as are O. J. Simpson, Eric Dickerson, Barry Sanders, Terrell Davis, Jamal Lewis, and Adrian Peterson. For his efforts, Henry was named NFL Offensive Player of the Year and earned a First-team All-Pro nod after last season after being named as a Second-team All-Pro in 2019.

He’s a two-time Pro Bowl mention (2019, 2020). He’s led the NFL in rushing in both 2019 and in 2020, and he’s also led the NFL in rushing touchdowns over that span. What does that have to do with the 2021 campaign you ask? Oh, it’s quite simple. This will be his best season to date.

Hot. A way-too-early 53-man roster projection. light

The Tennessee Titans’ newest additions on offense are going to take some of the pressure off of The King, and with the emergence of second-year man Darrynton Evans, which is something we’re all counting on, not only will Derrick Henry lead the league in rushing for a third straight season, but also with the addition of a 17th regular-season game, he’s going to rush for 2,000 yards again in 2021.

How about that for a bold prediction? That’s something Barry Sanders, and Eric Dickerson, and Terrell Davis never did, but if anyone can make that happen, it’s King Henry.
