The Titans find two high-risk and high-reward players in Round 3.

Round 3 Pick 92: Monty Rice, LB, Georgia

Round 3 Pick 100: Elijah Molden, CB, Washington

The Titans made two selections in round 3. First, the team selected Monty Rice, the linebacker out of Georgia. Next, the team again focused on the defensive side of the ball with another cornerback, Elijah Molden out of Washington.

We all knew the Titans needed help in the secondary. the argument can be made that, for every player that left, the Titans found one to replace them in the secondary. Janoris Jenkins, Caleb Farley, and Elijah Molden should more than compensate for the losses the Titans suffered.

Yes, the team signed Kevin Johnson to play slot corner, but let’s not kid ourselves: Molden is probably already better as a slot corner than Johnson is.

The other pick made in this round is Monty Rice. He was widely considered by many to be a fourth or fifth-round pick, so the Titans possibly reached here. Rice struggles in coverage but is efficient in the run game and should be a solid special-teams player. This pick probably could’ve been better utilized, but Rice might get a chance to contribute early on.

The grade for Rice: C-

The grade for Molden: A
