Newsome sneaks into Round 1, and the Tennessee Titans nab him.
Much has been made about former Northwestern Wildcats standout Greg Newsome. He didn’t have an extensive run in Evanston. As a matter of fact, he only appeared in 17 games from 2018 to 2020. He’s certainly done himself a lot of favors during the time though.
Don’t look now, but as we’ve moved through the draft process, he’s quietly gone from someone we thought could fall to the Tennessee Titans in Round 2 (that’s where some of the Titan Sized staff had him a week ago) to becoming someone who could very easily work himself into the first round.
Yes, it’s true. Don’t be surprised if Greg Newsome comes off of everyone’s draft board before Caleb Farley does.
Newsome is six-foot-one. He tips the scales at 190 pounds, and in those aforementioned 17 games at the collegiate level, this young man racked up 71 tackles, picked off a pass, and batted down another 20 balls en route to a First-team All-Big Ten nod in 2020.
It’s doubtful, he’s getting out of Round 1. If the Titans have a shot at him, they had better turn the card in.
