Jurrell Casey is a fit on this Tennessee Titans defense.
The best remaining free agent option for the Titans might just be a very familiar face. Defensive lineman Jurrell Casey spent the first nine seasons of his career in two-tone blue, making the Pro Bowl in his last five seasons with the team.
Before the 2020 season, the Tennessee Titans chose to move on from Casey, trading him to Denver in what essentially ended up being a salary dump. Unfortunately for him, 2020 would be his most challenging season as a pro.
He ended up only playing in three games before heading to the team’s IR (injured reserve) and being released after the season. 2020 was the first season of his career that Casey started less than 13 games, implying the season was very fluky and he may still have some left in the tank.
With one familiar face in DaQuan Jones leaving the D-line, why not bring in another player who’s familiar with the scheme? A line that includes Autry, Casey, and Simmons could be more than formidable in 2021. While there may be some sour grapes between the Titans and Casey, perhaps a reunion could smooth over any hard feelings.
