Is Geno Atkins someone the Tennessee Titans might take chance on?
After 11 seasons in Cincinnati with the Bengals, Geno Atkins was released after an injury-plagued 2020 regular-season campaign. Might the Tennessee Titans show any interest?
Before 2020, Atkins had been selected to six straight Pro Bowls, proving his impact along the defensive line. In 2019, his last healthy season, Atkins racked up 47 tackles and 4.5 sacks. After losing DaQuan Jones to the Panthers, the Titans would surely love to add a veteran difference-maker to make up for that lost production.
Being that Atkins is a cap casualty coming off an injury-marred season, he probably wouldn’t be too costly. The Titans can always use help on the defensive line, and while they could address it in the draft, recent draft picks here other than the selection of Big Jeff, Jeffery Simmons, have been underwhelming.
Proven talent next to Big Jeff and new addition Denico Autry would do wonders for the pass rush and run defense. Assuming Atkins still has gas in the tank, he would be worth a one-year flier.
