Trey Burton fills an immediate need in the Tennessee Titans offense.

It’s no secret that the Titans tight end room took a hit this offseason. After watching Jonnu Smith dart for a huge payday in New England with the Patriots, the Titans haven’t made any major moves at the position at this point.

Anthony Firkser and Geoff Swaim were both retained. many hope that the Titans could address the position in the draft, but rookie tight ends are, more often than not, notoriously slow developing. Here’s a great time to mention a veteran, one Trey Burton.

Burton is by no means a star, and that’s part of the reason that he’s still available at this point. He has dealt with some injury issues and some inconsistent play, but a veteran like Burton could make a tremendous difference in the tight end room. He recorded 28 receptions for 250 yards and three touchdowns for the Colts in 2020.

Along with his potential to provide solid production and a veteran presence, signing Burton would also ensure the division rival Colts can’t re-sign another playmaker.
