Tennessee Titans: 4 Thoughts on a dream backfield featuring Henry, CJ2K
By Brady Akins
Come on Tennessee Titans fans! Are you going to say that you aren’t interested?
Imagine how much fun it would be if, rather than select Travis Etienne Jon Robinson, we instead spent a few months building a time machine. Instead of rewriting the wrongs of the past, we used that technology to bring Chris Johnson, a Titans legend at running back, back to his prime and the present day and selected him in the first round.
Sure, it’s still insane, perhaps, but it’s a thought that’s too tantalizing not to daydream about.
Imagine the 2021 Tennessee Titans offense adding Johnson to the mix and building off of their 2020 campaign where they were second in the league in rushing attempts, yards, touchdowns, and first in Derrick Henry, highlight-level stiff arms. CJ2K is a player who is in the mix for being seen as the most talented Titan of the last 15 years, as his Henry. can you imagine a one-two punch?
Both players have 2,000-yard seasons and Offensive Player of the Year honors to their name, but both also contrast and complement one another. Henry is the bulldozer, and Johnson is the fastest man to ever step on a football field (this take brought to you by a biased Titans fan).
Having both of those players on the same offense would result in one of the most insane, varied, and unstoppable rushing attacks to ever present itself to the NFL. Let’s take a moment to indulge the hypothetical. Here are four thoughts on what this two-headed monster would look like.
