Round 3

With the 85th overall pick, the Titans select…Milton Williams DL, Louisiana Tech

Does he fit a need?

Yes. Even with the addition of Denico Autry who figures to play some 5-tech and 3-tech depending on the alignment of the defense, the Titans are still projecting Teair Tart to be the DL3 on this defense and behind him, they have Larrell Murchison and…that is about it.

Mike Vrabel/Shane Bowen heavily rotated their defensive linemen last season and if that trend is going to continue they are going to need more bodies at the position.

If Milton is there, it gives them another hybrid interior pass rusher who has great athleticism and who would give the Titans another 5-tech/3-tech player to put behind Autry in the lineup.

Is he a value?

Yes. There weren’t many cornerbacks left here that I was excited about and with holes at EDGE, WR2 and TE already filled, I made a pure value pick. It was lucky that the best players on the board were Alim McNeil and Milton Williams.

While I think McNeil is interesting, I don’t know if the Titans are thrilled with what they have gotten out of Murchison so double-dipping in the NC State well seemed like a non-starter with Williams still on the board even though both guys project to be adequate players in 2021 with upside based on their unique athleticism.
