Round 2

With the 53rd overall pick, the Titans select…Joseph Ossai EDGE, Texas

Does he fit a need?

Definitely.

I honestly have no idea what the defense is going to look like after the hiring of Jim Schwartz, but it doesn’t really matter for a player like Joseph Ossai who played off-ball linebacker and EDGE in 3-4 and 4-3 looks for Texas over the course of his career.

Given the alignment, you could make an argument that Harold Landry, Bud Dupree, Denico Autry, and Derick Roberson could all get a big chunk of snaps at EDGE for the Titans whether you like it or not.

Despite that, the Titans still need to be deeper at EDGE this season and Ossai is the type of nonstop, hustle player that will invoke memories of Kyle Vanden Bosch and he combines that effort with top-end athleticism.

Is he a value?

Yes, in an EDGE class that is deep in the middle, Ossai fell through the cracks and gives the Titans another top-50 player.
