Titans improve pass rush

Earlier today I said that the mantra of the Tennessee Titans’ offseason should be to accomplish two things: try to sustain their offensive production, upgrade the pass rush in order to hinder the growth and development of future Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

They took a big step towards the second part of that mantra today with the signings of former Indianapolis Colts DL/EDGE Denico Autry and former Pittsburgh Steelers EDGE Bud Dupree.

There are a lot of different things to dig into with these two players, but tonight I just want to touch on their fit and what they will bring to this Titans defense.

Money is going to be talked about a lot and so is the commitment, as well as a lot of other factors, but that isn’t what matters right now. We have seen how easy contracts are to get out of and now more than ever fans are aware that the money reported on Twitter is very rarely paid out in full.

Always remember the goal of the signing and whether or not the player you sign can accomplish that goal. If they can, then money doesn’t really matter (especially when there is a record-setting TV deal about to be signed)

So with that in mind, let’s start with Bud Dupree because he is a very cut and dry projection.
