Defense

Nearly every free agent defender

Bye.

I don’t necessarily agree with it, but if you are a player on the Titans defense, Mike Vrabel just told you exactly what he thinks about you. He thinks you were put in the right position, but you weren’t good enough.

Even worse, he is telling you that he would rather take his chances on the open market or with a rookie than think that you learned anything last year. He puts the historically bad defense squarely on the shoulders of the players and if the rumors are true, then there was never a real chance of the Titans moving on from Bowen anyway.

Jayon Brown, Jadeveon Clowney, and Desmond King should all be packing their bags right now.

DaQuan Jones, DL

The only exception to this might be Jones who had a career year in this defense next to Jeffery Simmons. Jones and Simmons seemed to be some of the very few players who were immune to the poison that was Shane Bowen’s defense last year.

If the Titans are going to let everyone else go on defense because they weren’t good enough, then maybe that increases the chances of Jones coming back in 2021 and beyond as long as his price tag isn’t crazy.
