What should the Titans do with Taylor Lewan?

The Tennessee Titans have a roster that was nearly completely built around Jon Robinson’s draft picks and free agent choices. The only starters on either side of the ball that don’t fit that criteria are DaQuan Jones and Taylor Lewan.

I think the Titans need to bring back Jones (who is a free agent this offseason), but if you clicked on this then I am pretty sure you know that the focus of this is going to be Taylor Lewan.

If you have ever read anything that I have written, you probably know that I am a big Taylor Lewan fan. Sure, Bussin’ with the Boys is a great podcast and Lewan is a fun guy to see in that setting, but even taking his personality out of it, I think that he is criminally underrated.

Before the season started I wrote about how PFN was underrating Taylor Lewan even though they had him ranked inside the top-10 tackles in the NFL.

I think that Lewan is a rare combination of the elite athleticism of a modern offensive lineman mixed with the “I want to make you quit” mentality that was more prevalent in the 80s. That edge and athleticism were missing during the times when the Titans offense was struggling and for a team that looks like they needed some leaders late in the year, he is an integral part of the future of this team.
