1. Clay Matthews, EDGE

By Sunday I had already resigned myself to the idea that the Titans roster is what it is and no one should expect anything to change. That was until I saw this borderline NSFW tweet from Clay Matthews that made me reconsider.

It feels crazy to say this, but it hasn’t been that long since Matthews was one of the better pass rushers in the NFL. In fact, Matthews had 8 sacks last season despite only playing in 3 games, which would easily lead the Titans in sack rate and total production.

The Titans seem determined to run a four-man front where Jack Crawford and Harold Landry are the end players on the line of scrimmage…for some reason. However, they move Landry off the ball frequently (over 100 snaps at this point) and that isn’t really his job.

So, why not bring in Matthews to be that off ball LB, EDGE hybrid that they want Landry to be, and instead of wasting Landry’s talents off the ball you can actually use him as a pass rusher. Then on 3rd downs, you don’t have to try to pretend that Rashaan Evans can rush the passer in the NFL and you can actually get someone else on the outside to help get pressure.
