3 things to watch for as the Titans play the Jaguars.

The Tennessee Titans have a pivotal division game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 14, and both teams should be cheering hard for a Titans win.

Before I get into numbers and things to watch, let me say something personal, RIP to Judge Raymond Grimes, my uncle who never missed a Titan Sized post. You will be missed.

According to FiveThirtyEight, a Titans’ win this weekend gives the team a 94% chance to make the playoffs and a 70% chance to win the AFC South. A loss this weekend brings the team down to a 62% chance to make the playoffs, and only a 28% chance to win this division.

Safe to say, this is a very important game for the Titans and is a chance for the team to cement themselves atop the AFC and hopefully get over the 9-7 hump. In the last 10 matchups between these two teams, the Titans are 8-2, so the historical advantage is with Tennessee here.

However, divisional games are always tough, especially late in the season. The Jaguars also have nothing to play for save for draft position, and right now I think anyone who will be on the roster or with the team in 2021 is struggling to balance the future of the franchise with their desire to upset the Titans.

In the final Jags, Titans matchup of 2019, Derrick Henry took over with a typical late-season Henry performance of 159 yards and 2 TD’s. The Titans are surely hoping for another monster performance from The King in Round 2 of the 2020 series.

Let’s take a look at 3 things I’m watching for in this pivotal matchup.
