30. Jacksonville Jaguars (+1)

Here at the bottom of these power rankings, we reward effort and at the very least the Jaguars are showing that they aren’t trying to be terrible. It just keeps happening.

On their third QB of the season and without several key players, the Jaguars managed to keep it close with the Cleveland Browns today. Ultimately they couldn’t pull off the trap game, but they looked more alive than they had in months.

I don’t think that firing their GM is going to help them on the field at this point, but Dave Caldwell wasn’t going to be there this offseason so why not move on. Doug Marrone didn’t leave with Caldwell, but he should have his bags packed all the same.

29. Detroit Lions (-2)

Ugh. I just wanted to see the Detroit Lions do well on Thanksgiving Day and they absolutely flopped against a similarly hapless team in the Houston Texans. Luckily (I guess), the game was so embarrassing that it got Matt Patricia and Bob Quinn fired.

Now that the Lions have been defeated on the field and admitted defeat when it comes to their offseason hirings, now maybe they will have a shot to redeem Matt Stafford’s career next year..but I doubt it.
