26. New York Giants (+3)

This is incredibly frustrating. Every week or two I write off Daniel Jones and then he makes just enough plays to win a game like this one. I still don’t think he is “good” but he is doing well enough to earn himself a chance in 2021.

I basically flip-flopped the Giants and Washington in these power rankings because after today I feel like they are the contenders for the worst team in the NFC East. But, the two-headed rushing attack of Wayne Gallman and Alfred Morris (wait, really?) were steady enough to convince me that in 2021 Barkley and this offensive line will be a factor.

At this point, any positive note on the Giants is good so it isn’t much, but I’ll take it.

25. Detroit Lions (-5)

I started out the season-low on the Lions in my power rankings, but I thought that they were a team that would lose close games despite being able to move the ball effectively through the air. With the weapons that Detroit has and with a running game that should be capable of playing complementary football, I expected them to be productive on that side of the ball.

However, they haven’t been able to consistently be average or above average there while the defense is also a bottom-5ish unit in the NFL. Now Stafford is banged up and seemingly a shell of himself? This is looking like a team that needs to tear it all down.
