6. Tennessee Titans (+3)

I wanted to push the Tennessee Titans higher on this list because it was one of the best defensive performances this team has had when they were facing someone other than the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, the Titans didn’t really show up like I thought they would.

After lighting the NFL on fire in the first month and a half, the Titans have been a little bit quieter over the past few weeks with very little blame to be laid at Tannehill’s feet. There are more drops and fewer big runs and I really don’t know why that is.

Still, all the pieces are there on offense and when one player (Corey Davis) isn’t having a good day then someone else (A.J. Brown) picks up the slack and makes plays. Derrick Henry’s productivity continues to extend past the box score and we shouldn’t look too much into his numbers on an unseasonably hot day. Everyone knows that the winter is Henry season.

Defensively, Desmond King looks like a revelation at slot corner and he was consistently in the right place. Not just in coverage either as he picked up a fumble caused by Jeffery Simmons, and returned it for a touchdown.

Let’s talk a little bit about Jeffery Simmons who was a bull in a china shop today with a forced fumble, a sack that was waved off because of a nonsensical flag, multiple tipped passes and one that he nearly intercepted himself, and several plays that you can’t see on the stat sheet where he demanded so much attention that someone else got a free run at the RB or QB.

If this team can ever get Adoree Jackson and/or Kristian Fulton healthy…

5. Buffalo Bills (+3)

The Buffalo Bills are 7-2 and their only two losses are to the Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs…have I been too hard on the Bills in my power rankings?

Josh Allen posted a monster day today and reminded everyone of why it wasn’t crazy when the “Josh Allen MVP” chants were starting to spread before the Tennessee Titans game.

While the ground game wasn’t special from the Bills, that really doesn’t matter and it really shouldn’t be what this team is based around. That should be left to the players who really shined today and that is Stefon Diggs and John Brown who are two of the more terrifying big-play receivers in the NFL.

I don’t know how this will shake out down the line, but right now you can’t find a team with a better resume than the Bills.
