6. Ty Sambrailo, OT

If you have liked Dennis Kelly over the last few years, then I have good news because the Titans have found Dennis Kelly 2.0 (except not a 6’7 clone of the Undertaker).

Rodger Saffold was asked today about how Sambrailo has been doing and this is my response to his quote:

It is impossible to have too many good tackles in the NFL and since we have no idea what Isaiah Wilson is at this point, it is very lucky that Jon Robinson nailed this free-agent move.

Sambrailo has been solid at worst and a great run blocker at best and the offensive line seems to be moving the ball as effectively now as they were when Taylor Lewan was on the field. Everyone scoffed when I showed the math of how the offense was as effective with Sambrailo as they were with Lewan up to the point of Lewan’s injury, and here we are now.

I don’t think he would get a massive contract in free agency, but keeping him around gives the Titans the best tackle depth in the NFL (if Wilson turns out to be any good at all) and it gives them a pretty impressive trade chip if they want to make a move at some point.
