28. Atlanta Falcons (+2)

The Atlanta Falcons aren’t good, but it is good to see that every now and then they can make some things happen on offense that reminds the league that the pieces on this team are actually capable of doing more than they have in the first two months of the year.

This wasn’t just a defensive effort, even without Takk McKinley (who is on the trade block) the Falcons ended up getting to the passer consistently and finished the game with 3 sacks and an interception.

Not bad, but don’t get so focused on power rankings that you ruin your draft pick Atlanta.

27. Carolina Panthers (-3)

The Panthers continue to frustrate me and after a lot of soul searching, I have decided that I am not going to believe in them anymore.

Offensively they aren’t bad, but without Christian McCaffrey, the Panthers rely on D.J. Moore for their big plays and they didn’t even get him involved until late in the game this past week. That is either an oversight by the play-caller or by the quarterback, but either way it is an issue for this team.

Defensively they are pretty solid, but that didn’t stop Julio Jones from tearing through them and reminding me why I had them so low in my power rankings.
