26. Houston Texans (-1)

Below, I talk about how inspired Washington fans should be with their young player but the Houston Texans shouldn’t be inspired by anyone.

It looks like any effort or energy that the Texans had heading into the Tennessee Titans game last week, was left in Nashville because they certainly didn’t have it today. While the Texans are 26th in these power rankings now, I don’t think there is a team in the NFL in worse shape than the Texans right now.

They are rudderless with not one leading the ship and without any future assets to entice a great coach and/or GM to come to Houston.

25. Washington (+5)

I know that Washington beat up on a banged-up football team in the Dallas Cowboys, but this is a young team that is thriving right now.

Not only did Chase Young lead them in tackles today, but Antonio Gibson had a fantastic day on the ground. That isn’t even factoring in star rookies from their 2019 draft where they landed Montez Sweat (2 sacks today) and Terry McLaurin (led them in receiving and receiving TDs today).

The bones of a successful team are here and Washington should be very excited about what they are seeing on both sides of the ball right now.
