Steelers vs. Titans: Game Preview, Odds, Injuries
By Ravi Konjeti
Weather
The fall weather is rolling into Nashville as the temperatures expected to hover in the 60s. A cloudy overcast is expected throughout the game.
One huge factor here that isn’t going to be clear in the weather predictions for the game is that it has been raining in Tennessee for the last 48 hours or so. That includes a downpour that forced Nashville’s soccer team to cancel a game scheduled for Friday.
Even if it isn’t raining at kickoff, the ground is going to be very wet and footing could be suspect for both teams.
Other than that, the special teams may experience slight winds that could affect the kicking game.
Injuries
The Titans biggest loss comes from an injury sustained last week to all-pro tackle Taylor Lewan. Lewan suffered a torn ACL and is not only out for the game but out for the rest of the season. It’s a big loss for the Titans offensive line but backup Ty Sambrailo has filled in relatively well in the snaps he has received.
In good news, wideout A.J. Brown and tight end Jonnu Smith were full participants in practice on Friday. Brown still carries a Questionable tag for Sunday but both players are expected to suit up for the game.
The Steelers also experienced a big loss last week as starting linebacker Devin Bush went down for the season with an ACL injury. The Steelers will be out with a backup corner in Mike Hilton and fullback Derek Watt.
