8. Green Bay Packers (+3)

How much do you upgrade a team after they beat the Detroit Lions? For the Bears last week I marked them up two, and that was taking into account that the Lions should have beaten the Bears if not for a dropped pass from a rookie in the endzone.

The Packers aren’t the Bears, but they also completely dominated the Lions instead of just beating them at the end. I ended up marking them up three spots because this looks like the offense that the Packers wanted to run and Aaron Jones was an eater of worlds.

If these power rankings are supposed to reflect how confident I am in each team to win as many games as possible without looking at their schedule, then the Packers fit right into this top-10 even though I have concerns about the coaching staff and parts of that defense.

7. Seattle Seahawks (+1)

I was tempted not to move the Seahawks up at all this week becuase of how hard the team makes it on Russell Wilson to win football games, but that wasn’t fair. The Seahawks are a team highlighted by great players like Wilson, Jamal Adams, Bobby Wagner, D.K. Metcalf, etc. but they also have some players who are terrible and there is very little in between these two ends of the spectrum.

The Seahawks have shown the ability to strike from anywhere and everywhere, but it is incredibly annoying to see them force the run game as much as they do. They come in at 7 on the power rankings, but this feels like so many other Seahawks teams that just had too many weakness to win it all.
