1. Stephen Gostkowski, K

Gostkowski is responsible for every Titans fan in America having nervous flashbacks to 2019.

Gostkowski missed 3 FG attempts on the night, and also missed 1 extra point, the easy math says that would be make it a 26-14 game instead of a 16-14 game.

It was not a promising start for the all-time great kicker. Fortunately, Gostkowski redeemed himself and eventually chipped in the game-winning 25-yard field goal, allowing Titans fans to collectively sigh in relief.

While it didn’t end up costing the team a win, it very easily could have. In fact, we saw it cost the Titans a game just like this in 2019 against another AFC South team ALSO in Week 2 of the season.

Gostkowski’s missed kicks left 10 points on the table for the Titans and could have been a heartbreaking way to lose a game. That performance is surely not one the Titans want to witness again, as next time the team might not be so lucky.

Mike Vrabel’s former teammate will get at least one more week to redeem himself, and Vrabel expressed confidence in his veteran kicker. However, the Titans do have rookie kicker Tucker McCann on the practice squad, so one has to wonder how long Gostkowski’s leash truly is.

Look for the four-time Pro Bowler to have a solid game against the Jaguars and silence the chatter for now, but don’t be surprised if the Titans are a little bit more aggressive in short down and distances this week opting for first downs over field goal attempts.
