Week 2 NFL Power Rankings: Colts and Buccaneers exposed
By Will Lomas
12. Philadelphia Eagles (-4)
The Eagles had a tough day Sunday, and injuries are a big reason why the lost the war of attrition with the Football Team. That would be forgivable most weeks, but when watching Carson Wentz it just looked clear that this team is going to have to focus on investing heavily around Wentz for his entire career.
The offense doesn’t look bad, but there is just something missing and maybe that changes when they are healthy and they have their left and right tackle, their starting running back, and one of their top-3 receivers back, but for now, I have to grade on what I saw.
11. Green Bay Packers (+4)
The Packers seemed like an offensive juggernaut today and they did it without a real threat on offense other than Davante Adams. Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams were fine, but they were the only players to carry the ball more than 5 times and they averaged less than 3.8 yards combined.
This was the Aaron Rodgers show in all of its glory and that is the most important and exciting thing for Packers fans. What should be concerning is that the defense looked largely overwhelmed throughout the day and despite being in a positive game script all day long, they couldn’t punish Kirk Cousins behind a bad offensive line.
That is the difference between the Packers and the top-10 in these power rankings.
