EDGE

What they told us: They are going to be more versatile and more disruptive than last year.

Right now the Tennessee Titans have a group of EDGEs that most teams would dream of, given that everyone is healthy and used correctly. I’ll give a little run down of how each EDGE should be used in my mind.

Harold Landry: You can’t be wrong here. He can do everything for you and he can do it at a very consistent level. Whether you want him to bend and beat a tackle with speed on a pass rush or if you want to set the edge in the run game, he can do it all.

Jadeveon Clowney: I don’t want to limit Clowney, but right now I think that the best way to use him is to keep him out of the 3-tech that people keep talking about. In Seattle he was most commonly used as a pure edge rusher, and in Houston he switched it up at times standing over the center and picking a gap to blitz before the snap. Those are the two ways I would use him on passing downs, and on running downs, you can use him wherever because he is very good.

Vic Beasley: Just use him exactly like Cam Wake last season. Don’t ask him to play more than 20 snaps per game and they should all come on 2nd and long or on 3rd downs when he is rushing the passer.

Kamalei Correa: Primary backup for Harold Landry.

Derick Roberson: Use him whenever you want to get more speed on the field and the goal should be for him to take over Vic Beasley’s role by the end of the season.
