Surprising Titans cuts.

The Tennessee Titans have cut down their roster to 53 players and made a variety of eye-opening decisions in the process.

Throughout Saturday morning and afternoon, frequent reports came out about which players were notified whether they made the Tennessee Titans roster or not. Just moments ago, the Titans made it official on their website.

While there weren’t any bombshell moves made by the front office, a few of them caught the attention of Titans fans and reporters.

Wide Receiver

First and foremost, the wide receiver corps was rounded out by two players who seemed to be on the outside looking in up until Saturday. Cameron Batson and Cody Hollister were chosen as the fifth and sixth receivers.

Many were expecting the Titans to keep only five receivers. In addition, Rashard Davis seemed to have locked up a spot due to his performance in camp and his valuable punt return ability, but the Titans’ coaching staff has long talked about Batson’s work ethic, while Hollister gives them a big body in the red zone.

This is a position on the roster that could definitely end up being different by the time that the dust settles around cut down day in the NFL, but the choices the Titans decided to make were curious.
