Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, Safety

The Cowboys made a surprising move in cutting Ha Ha Clinton-Dix after signing him in free agency this offseason. Clinton-Dix was an All-Pro in 2016 and spent the majority of his career with the Green Bay Packers before being traded to the Washington Football Team in 2018.

The Titans do not need added safety help behind Kevin Byard and Kenny Vaccaro but Clinton-Dix can aid in playing multiple roles in the secondary. His coverage skills can help add depth to the cornerback position or coverage in the slot, similar to what they are trying to do with Amani Hooker.

If the Titans think that they can improve there, don’t put it past them to value a veteran with a higher floor and Clinton-Dix has 16 interceptions in his NFL career with 33 passes defended.

The Titans have taken flyers on players who have shown an ability to play multiple positions and can cover the pass and stop the run.

While Clinton-Dix’s abilities have dropped off recently, he may be worth it if he is willing to take a small contract and backup the Titans safeties. This would let HHCD take a step back and really find the niche he wants to be in since he is probably gearing up for his last chance at a big contract after this season.
