Titans’ CB Kristian Fulton vs Broncos’ WR Jerry Jeudy

Not only the most exciting of the rookie matchups to be held in Tennessee’s Week 1 game against the Broncos, but probably one of the highest-profile individual matchups to take place on the field at all: Kristian Fulton vs Jerry Jeudy.

The matchup of Fulton and Jeudy will be one of two former collegiate rivals, both taken in the early rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft. Expectations were that both players will come in immediately and work their way from the second team to starting quickly, and that looks true in both cases.

In different seasons, both were crowned National Champions at the college level and were named All-Conference selections. Now, both players will be facing off in their professional debut and reigniting a rivalry from their college days.

In addition to playing at two opposing positions, the cornerback Fulton and the receiver Jeudy attended rival schools as well, LSU and Alabama, respectively. And while Jeudy did manage a solid performance against Fulton’s LSU squad in their 2019 match, Jeudy did most of his damage against the Tigers’ other cornerbacks. When matched up against Fulton, the current Titans’ cornerback managed the upper hand.

Playing for new teams, with new supporting casts and at the escalated pace of the NFL, whether or not Fulton will be able to repeat his success is up in the air. But one way or another, his matchup against Jeudy will be one to watch.
