Third round pick

This really seems to be the sweet spot in terms of value. Top-100 picks have a much better chance of making a roster over anyone taken on Day 3, but it is still a pick low enough where teams haven’t really fallen in love with players.

So it makes sense that 3rd round picks are often involved in big player deals.

O.J. Howard, TE

Should the Titans be interested: No

If the Tampa Bay Bucs don’t think that Howard can work with Tom Brady despite having Rob Gronkowski to watch, then what is he going to be able to do at the NFL level?

I still think Howard can be a very good player, but I’m not willing to gamble a top-100 pick on it, especially right before he becomes a free agent.

Sammy Watkins, WR

Should the Titans be interested: No

Sammy Watkins was one of my favorite prospects when he came out and he has had an underwhelming career since being drafted. Despite that, I think he is underrated and isn’t the bust that everyone always says.

Still, I don’t know if he is any better than Corey Davis and I know the team wouldn’t like him as much and he wouldn’t be as good of a blocker.

J.C. Jackson, CB

Should the Titans be interested: Yes

Getting New England cornerbacks has worked out well for the Titans in the past. Kidding aside, Jackson has been versatile and played in the slot and on the boundary so he would instantly solve the Titans cornerback problem now.

He is just 24 years old right now so paying him will be worth it by the end of his contract and you can work in plenty of ways to get out of a new contract if you sign him, agree on parameters and then he turns out to be underwhelming.
